Obituary

SPAULDING

Richard “Rick”, beloved husband of Elizabeth Carroll-Spaulding. Loving son of Wanda and the late Charles “Dick” Spaulding. Devoted stepfather of Jeffrey Havens, El Paso, TX and Angela Havens, Sharonville, OH. Loving grandfather and mentor to Ashley and David Havens and Madison Bohlander, and “brother” to Richard Hamilton of Ayrshire, Scotland. He was best friend to his parrot Cosmo, and friend to many. Rick dedicated 51 years of his life following his passion for music establishing a name for himself as one of the best drummers in the Tri-State area. Rick was a graduate of Princeton High School and Bowling Green University. He was a member of the Cincinnati Caledonian Society and the Losantaville Highlanders. Rick was a member of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Pipe Band, playing the bagpipes for us in many parades and services until a recent injury prevented his marching. Rick served for many years on the board of directors and later President of the Glendale Lyceum. Rick was also a past member of the Sports Car Club of America Racing his beloved Mini Cooper in Mid-Ohio and other racetracks around the State. Member of Delta Tau Delta. Died Sat. April 7, 2012. Age  56 . Resident of Glendale. Visitation Sat. April 14, from 9:00AM until time of Funeral Service at 1:00PM both at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home 10211 Plainfield Rd (just south of Glendale-Milford Rd).  In lieu of flowers Memorials requested to the Caledonian Society Scholarship Fund  c/o 6910 Bridgetown Rd. Cinti., OH 45248. or Hospice of Cincinnati. Following services, there will be a celebration of Rick’s life at the Century Inn, Woodlawn. www.mrfh.com
